SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Salmon River's Darren Crowe piloted TM Top Gun to the winner's circle Sunday in Atlantic Sires Stakes action at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John, N.B.

The 12-dash card, originally scheduled for Saturday, was pushed back to Sunday due to the wind and rain from Hurricane Earl.

Crowe and the three-year-old pacing colt took the majority of the $9,820 purse in 1:57.2 for owner David MacDonald of Halifax in the first of two A Division races on the card. Island Redemption finished in the runner-up spot while Benny Rabbit came home third.

The second A Division heat went to Mr Salming with Gilles Barrieau holding the lines in 1:58.2 for owners Boyd MacDonald Produce and Daniel Ross, of Belfast, P.E.I. Points leader Allbentouttashape crossed the line second and Unstoppable Speed rounded out the top three.

The event was the final chance for the three-year-olds to earn points for a place in this year's Atlantic Breeders Crown championships at Truro Raceway Oct. 8 to 10.

The series moves on to Inverness Wednesday when the trotters take centre stage. The three-year-olds will race in three divisions for $4,000 each while the two-year-olds go in one division for $9,120.
