TRURO - The Truro Bearcats' season is finished.

The Bearcats saw their last-chance bid to make the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League postseason flutter away when the Kentville Wildcats handed the Halifax Canadians a 4-2 loss Tuesday in Kentville. A Halifax win would have set up a one-game showdown last night at the TAAC Grounds between Truro and Kentville with the winner extending their season.

Truro (10-18) finishes in the basement of the regular season standings, just one game behind Kentville (11-17).

It is the first time in at least nine consecutive seasons the Bearcats have missed the playoffs.
