TRURO - Colchester County athletes made their impact felt at the recent Eastern Canadian Elite Volleyball Championship in Moncton.

Lower Truro's Will Sandeson and Lower Onslow's Scott Worsley helped Nova Scotia White to a 2-1 (21-25, 25-19, 15-8) win over Nova Scotia Blue in the final of the tournament's Under-18 Division. Truro resident Kristen O'Brien was a member of the Blue squad.

For his efforts, Sandeson was named to the division's all-start team.

Sandeson's younger brother Adam and Onslow's Logan Baillie helped Nova Scotia to a gold medal in the Under-16 Division with a 2-0 (25-20, 25-19) victory over New Brunswick in the final. Nova Scotia blanked Newfoundland Red 2-0 (25-11, 25-19) in the semifinal and Baillie was named to the division's all-star squad.
