TRURO - Liberal candidate Jim Burrows calling on the Conservative government to call a by-election for the Cumberland Colchester Musquodoboit Valley riding.

The seat became vacant in late April when veteran MP Bill Casey resigned.

Burrows said the reason for the delay to call a by-election is the political.

"In 2008 over 91 per cent of the people in this riding voted against the Harper government." Burrows said. "Mr. Harper and his Conservatives want to allow the maximum amount of time to pass from the tremendous vote of non-confidence in 2008...

"This delay is about them, not about our best interests."
