Liberals holding nomination meeting for federal riding

VALLEY - A New Brunswick Member of Parliament will be the guest speaker at Saturday's Liberal nomination meeting for Cumberland Colchester Musquodoboit Valley.


Dominic LeBlanc will speak at the Redcliff Middle School in Valley.


Registration starts at 2 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 3 p.m. To be eligibile to vote, members must be paid up as of Aug. 31, 2009.


Green Oaks dairy farmer Jim Burrows and Bible Hill business executive Tracy Parsons are contesting the nomination.


The seat became vacant earlier this year when longtime MP Bill Casey resigned.


A date for a byelection has not been set


and there remains the potential for a general election.
