TATAMAGOUCHE - The French River bridge on the Trans-Canada Trail near Tatamagouche is once again open to traffic.
Construction crews finished repairing the bridge's centre pier last week.
Tatamagouche and Area Trails Association has spearheaded the stabilization and repair project since the Department of Natural Resources closed the bridge to all traffic last fall. The former train bridge is a vital link in the recreational trail.
The association is also working to improve other areas of the trail.
