(Re: Six-figure request made to help pay for Cougar Dome construction costs, Truro Daily News, March 21, 2014)
The Cougar Dome's request for $100,000 is another example of a special interest group starting something and not having the proper financial funds in place to pay for it.
I feel that it is unjust to ask the county taxpayers to pay for their mistakes as we are already paying for the White Elephant in Truro to the tune of $755,000 a year for who knows how long. This money can be put to better use in the county fixing roads, sidewalks and other projects that help out all taxpayers. I hope the county mayor and council will remember that this is taxpayer’s money and we need other projects looked after first.
