To the editor,

We would like to thank the Truro Daily News for the interview of our family about the situation in Ukraine.

(Re: Ukrainian couple grateful to call Truro home, Truro Daily News, March 1, 2014)

But after reading the article we got a feeling that our message was not delivered. The message is that we are proud people. That after three months of peaceful protests the Ukrainian people overthrew a corrupted government. All this time the hearts of all Ukrainians in Nova Scotia was with our people who stood up for peace and justice. The nation paid the high price, but the story is not over. Unlike Europe, U.S. and Canada, Russia did not recognize a newly formed government. In fact, Russian President Vladimir Putin is angry because his corrupted regime lost control over Ukraine. Russian propaganda opened an information war against Ukraine, which shocked the whole world. About the real situation you could learn from the first-hand sources, for example www.kyivpost.com.
