Time will tell

I was reading your article on the deer being hit on the Trans-Canada Highway.
There seems to be more deer now than I have seen in a long time. The funny thing about it is that the government is still charging hunters $6 for doe permits.
The idea was good when the population was down but the number that are being hit on roads and the size of the herds being seen, it will be interesting to see if the province gives up its $6 lottery system this year, or if it remains just another source of income.

I believe that the amount of deer being hit is less about an overabundance of the animals as it is about the fact that we keep destroying the forests they call home. Where else are the supposed to go except to the roads and towns?
