Appalled action not taken against attack at stadium

I am appalled that the hockey player from Amherst was not suspended for the season for his actions. (Truro vs. Amherst, Sunday Jan. 27, 2008, Colchester Legion Stadium.)
I was at the game behind the Truro players bench and saw the altercation. There was no provocation for the player to attack a man who could be his grandfather. The attack was inexcusable.
I am very disappointed that Bearcats coach Shawn Evens, who admits to not seeing the attack, sides with the Amherst player. This is inexcusable.
For Harold Barkhouse, who has donated his time to the community the way he has, to be treated this way, should not happen. This is a black mark on this league that they would allow this to happen.
I hope in the absence of the league doing the right thing Mr. Barkhouse presses criminal charges against the player so everyone knows how this league, treats these acts of aggression.
This is again a sad commentary on hockey. At least in the other publicized incidents across the country, action was taken.

    The player should not be pushing anyone around let alone pushing a senior citizen. The hockey president would be doing all concerned a favour by reprimanding the player for his actions, and by apologizing to Mr. Barkhouse who by the way donates his time to the team and should continue to do so.

    Re: Truro-Amherst Hockey dustup;
    If Gary Davis of Bible Hill had his way the courts would be filled with people accused of shoving someone. Anyone who has played competitive
    hockey knows it can get a little heated at times.
    I watched the video of the incident and it clearly shows both Mr Barkhouse & the player over reacted and it also it shows they sort of apologized to each other before the game continued.
