Some information for StatsCan

Your Jan. 15 story "Aging population helped drive up the number of deaths in 2005: StatsCan" alarmed me.
As an aging person myself (one year older every birthday and counting), I apologize for any inconvenience. I certainly never meant to drive up the death rates. On the contrary, I do my best not to. I eat my broccoli, exercise daily and try not to watch the late news.
But take heart, StatsCan! My new research shows that aging actually lowers death rates. It stands to reason. Statistically, very few people die at 90, fewer still at 100 and almost none at 150. Crash that demographic and you're home free.
So hang in there, seniors! Statisticians and grandchildren will thank you - if no one else.
