Time for the premier to wake up

Having Street Talk in your newspaper is always interesting. I would like to pass on my thoughts about the people surveyed and their answer (Monday, Jan. 21, Page 4).
The two people who think we have enough holidays by their picture look to be retired. Everyday is a holiday to them.
The Nova Scotia legislature has the shortest time in session in Atlantic Canada and Nova Scotians have the fewest statutory holidays in the country with five.
Premier Rodney MacDonald probably doesn't want to give up on a day of taxation. He also is the only Maritime premier not to lower the tax at the pumps.
MLAs Jamie Muir and Karen Casey please let him know Colchester voters would like to see Nova Scotians on the same page as other Canadian provinces.
It's time Nova Scotia joins the rest of Canada.
In closing my father was a Second World War veteran and would be upset to hear that our premier feels that Remembrance Day doesn't qualify as a statutory holiday.
Wake up premier, it's 2008.
