Talk of the Town

Have you heard of the Penny Party? Downtown stores in Truro are asking for your support while supporting the Colchester Historeum. For every $5 in rolls of pennies received at each of the participating stores you can register to win one of six $50 downtown gift certificates courtesy of the Downtown Truro Partnership (DTP). Colchester Historeum receives all the pennies. To find out more contact the DTP.

This weekend is the Easy Living Expo, held at the Best Western Glengarry. It is hosted by DTP and admission is free. I went last year. It was a fun, informative event gathering information about products and services that we can all use.

March means maple syrup to me. While I am sure you have a special place that you go to for that sweet spring treat, check the Lions Club. They will be serving pancakes, sausages and juice, tea or coffee each Saturday in March at the club on Prince Street, Truro. The cost is $10/per person. The proceeds go back to the community in the many ways ‘we serve.’ Also on Saturday night, March 2, is the annual casino night for the Lions. Cost is $10 and includes a light lunch and door prizes donated by the local business community.

It was nice to recently read about some of the changes coming to the area because without change people/places stop growing. My final thought for this week – how are you going to grow?
