LONDONDERRY LINES, COLCHESTER WEEKLY NEWS

October is a month full of thanks, gratitude, and abundance.

In celebrating Thanksgiving Day, the Thirsty Church is pleased to offer a 10:30 a.m. gathering time on Sunday, Oct. 7. Bring any sort of fresh produce such as apples, potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, etc. to help adorn the altar table. The fresh vegtables gathered at the Thirsty Church on Thanksgiving Day will be donated to the food bank.

Join us if you don't already have plans to gather elsewhere.

The animal blessing service at the Londonderry Hall last Sunday raised $314 for the We Care Kitty Helpline Society. It was a great gathering with some unique features. Sometimes it is nice to step outside the norm and do something different.

The mission of the Thirsty Church is to provide enhancement to the community and the fundraising service on Sunday for the Kitty Helpline was just one example of how that can be done.

The church is actively seeking input regarding how else they may be able to reach out and assist in the community. Therefore, a potluck lunch/workshop is set to take place on Oct. 21 at the Thirsty Church.

The regular 10:30 a.m. service will be shortened with the potluck lunch starting at approximately 11 a.m., and will offer a chance to chat about what other kinds of things the Thirsty Church can do for outreach activities within the community.

The workshop will center on the community and its people and will identify specific needs so we can all pitch in together and be good neighbours and friends to one another. The potluck and workshop is open to everyone and all are welcome.

The municipal election is just around the corner with Tom Taggart and Doug Cooke in the running for our District 10.

The voting station on election day is at the Londonderry Hall on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Advance polls will take place Thursday, Oct. 11 and Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Great Village Fire Hall.

************************************

The next general meeting for the Thirsty Church Project is Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.  The next Londonderry Community Council meeting is Oct. 7 at 7pm at the Londonderry Hall.

Happy Birthday to Tanya O'Brien, Robbin Spencer and Connor Spencer.
