HALIFAX - Nova Scotia's Liberal leader says he's looking for immediate changes to spending by politicians as he heads into a meeting today with the other party leaders.
Stephen McNeil says the meeting will involve NDP Premier Darrell Dexter, Karen Casey of the Conservatives and the Speaker of the legislature.
McNeil says changes to the expenses and allowances of members of the legislature should be made now.
The Liberal leader says all the leaders need to work together in a non-partisan way to restore public confidence in provincial politicians.
The recent report of the auditor general cited numerous examples of inappropriate and excessive spending.
Dexter said Monday he wants input from all parties as the government moves to reform expense allowance spending once the legislature reconvenes March 25.
