FREDERICTON - A Fredericton man whose residence was used as a place to stash marijuana before it was sold has been sent to prison.
Fabian Troy Kelly, 39, was sentenced Monday to 26 months after being convicted earlier of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Kelly was charged in Operation Jellybean, a joint-forces investigation that ran for a couple of years and focused on the drug trade in Fredericton.
Jellybean targeted crime groups involved in a variety of drugs, including anabolic steroids, cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs.
Officers executed a search warrant on Kelly's home and found just over three kilograms of pot in bags.
Judge Anne Jeffries said that although Kelly was a minor player in the operation, he still allowed his home to be used for drug storage.
