Halifax man to go on trial in summer on child pornography charges

HALIFAX - A Halifax man who used to work at area daycares has pleaded not guilty to three child pornography charges.
Peter James Dominix, 43, appeared in Halifax provincial court Tuesday on charges of accessing, possessing and distributing child porn.
The judge set an Aug. 16 date for a trial.
Dominix was arrested Oct. 23 after police got a warrant to search his residence.
Officers seized two computers, an external hard drive, memory sticks and computer disks.
He was released on conditions that he stay off the Internet, have no contact with anyone under the age of 16 and not go to schools, parks, daycares, playgrounds and other places frequented by children.
Dominix was employed by at least seven daycares in Halifax and one in Lower Sackville.
