N.S. man charged with attempted murder; another with assault with weapon

PARRSBORO, N.S. - Two Cumberland County men charged with firearms offences, and one with attempted murder, were released from custody following a court appearance Tuesday.
Joshua Robinson Nuttall, 24, and Nicholas Owen Phinney, 26, were released on strict conditions.
Nuttall is facing one count each of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon.
Phinney is facing one count each of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, using a firearm in the commission of an offence and possession of a weapon.
RCMP said members of the Amherst, Parrsboro and Oxford detachments went to an Apple River residence at about 11:55 p.m. Sunday.
Const. Dal Hutchinson said two men were at the home earlier in the day but were asked to leave. They returned later with a shotgun and threats were allegedly made.
"I can say that the shotgun was not discharged," he said.
The accused were arrested early Monday.
