TRURO - Mark Austin has been officially acclaimed as the NDP candidate for the riding of Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley in the next federal election.
In his address to those who attended the Wednesday evening event at the Truro fire hall, Austin emphasized "real community," a commitment to "greenness," (both in the sense of being new to politics, which he said needs principled new faces) and his commitment to the environment.
And buying locally to support area communities is also a big plank in his political agenda, Austin told the approximately 100 supporters in attendance.
