Colchester County activities for the last weekend of March
Provincial childhood awareness parade
AUG. 10 – Hosted by the Early Childhood Education program in Truro.
Provincial Awareness Parade and Family fun event. 1 to 3 p.m. Starts at A Bungalo Fun Learning Centre, 24 Kaulback St., Truro. Finishes at Victoria Park for the family fun event.
Open church doors
AUG. 11 – First United Church, Truro. Visit the church, relax, find a moment of peace. Open Monday to Friday throughout July and August. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone welcome.
Card game, 45s
AUG. 11– Good Neighbours Club. 21 Palmer St., Truro. 7 p.m. Includes 50/50.
Documentary film series
AUG. 13 – Truro library. 1 p.m. For movie title, call 895-4183 or log onto www.lovemylibrary.ca.
AUG. 13 – Salmon River fire hall. Each Wednesday in August. 8:30 p.m. Shared lunch and music by Countrified and others.
Pie charts and pocket books
AUG. 13 – Truro library. 3 to 5 p.m. Eat pies and find out how to pad your pocketbook too. Registration begins Aug. 7. For ages 13 to 19. Call 895-1625 to register.
AUG. 13 – Previously enjoyed book sale. Colchester Historeum, Young Street, Truro. 1 to 3 p.m.
Drop-in knit, crochet group
AUG. 14 – Truro library. 3 to 4:30 p.m. Bring yarn and needles. Patterns and written instructions will be available. For ages eight and older.
AUG. 14 – Truro library. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Learn the basics of Apple’s operating system for an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Space is limited. Registration is required. Call 895-4183 or drop into the library.
Open door prayer for the community
AUG. 15 – First Baptist Church, Prince Street, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer for people in the community. Wheelchair accessible to the church’s sanctuary.
Teddy bear picnic
AUG. 15 – Truro library. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. For ages three to seven. Bring a teddy bear and enjoy stories and a craft. Registration begins Aug. 7. Limited space. Call 895-1615 to register.

AUG. 15 – Marigold Cultural Centre, Truro. 6 p.m. Kickoff to the Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival. Proceeds for the Bill Rawlinson Memorial Outreach Fund at St. John’s Anglican Church.
Annual river walk
AUG. 15 – Meet at the Foodland in Tatamagouche. 1:30 to 3 p.m. Drinks, snacks after the walk. Wear appropriate footwear.
