Accused in attack of former Truro man appear in court

A 16-year-old girl charged in connection with a brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney has been denied bail.

Reports to media indicate she's among six charged with the beating of 48-year-old Shawn Kurtis Jack, formerly of Truro, on July 14th.

Jack is continuing his recovery from his injuries in a Halifax hospital.

The youth, whose name is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with aggravated assault, wearing a disguise in committing an offence and two counts of breaching court orders and will be back in court August 20th to enter pleas to the charges.

22-year-old Cory Patrick Richard Blinkhorn, facing charges including attempted murder, appeared in court Wednesday and his case was adjourned until August 20th.

22-year-old Jennifer Lynn MacLeod, facing charges including aggravated assault, also appeared in court Wednesday and is expected to return to court on Monday.
