TRURO – Rachel Hill, who grew up in Hilden but now lives in Truro, is the featured artist for the month of August at the MacLellan and Moffatt Financial Gallery.

Hill was born in Southern Ontario in 1985, the same year that Back to the Future, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, and The Goonies were all released.

After growing up in Hilden, Hill attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design where she studied Fine Art and graduated with a minor in art history.

She has participated in a variety of group printed matter exhibitions in Halifax and New York, but this will be her first solo show.

For the past number of years, Hill has been living in the east end of Truro where she spends most of her time drawing pictures with her eyes closed and petting a very old dog while binge watching Netflix.

A reception will be held at the gallery at the Marigold Cultural Centre on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Organizations: Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Marigold Cultural Centre

Geographic location: Southern Ontario, Hilden, Halifax New York
