Truck crashes into Needs, driver flees scene

AMHERST – Police are looking for the driver of a truck that crashed into a Needs Convenience Store on Church Street here in Amherst on Monday.

Video surveillance of the crash at a Needs Convenience Store on Church Street in Amherst on Monday was released to media this week. Police are looking for the suspect, who fled the scene following the incident.

On July 28 at approximately 10 p.m., Amherst Police responded to reports a vehicle had crashed into the store. Several windows were damaged from the collision. 

The vehicle failed to remain at the scene of the accident and fled the area. Surveillance video shows the vehicle as being a grey, four-door Dodge Dakota. Two suspects were in the vehicle at the time of the collision and the driver is believed to be a Caucasian male, 20-30 years of age with facial hair. He was believed to be wearing a dark coloured top and a red hat.
