Documentary film series

Bingo

JULY 16 –Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Brunswick Street, Truro, 6 p.m. in the auditorium, early bird at 6:30 p.m., regular bingo, 7:20 p.m.

Dance

JULY 16 – Salmon River fire hall. 8:30 p.m. Music by Countrified and others. Shared lunch.

Tea in the garden

JULY 16 – Every Wednesday in July and August. 1 to 3 p.m. Colchester Historeum, Young Street, Truro. Homemade biscuits, jams, sweets, tea, coffee, water and juice. Adults, $6; children under 12, $3. If it rains, the tea will be held inside the museum.

Ham, salad, strawberry supper

JULY 16 – Upper Stewiacke United Church. 5 to 6:30 p.m. Adults, $12; students, $6; preschoolers get in for free. Takeouts available.

If You Build It ….

JULY 16 – Truro library. For ages eight to 12. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Theme: If You Build It … Registration opens July 10. Call 895-1625 to register.

Table petting zoo

JULY 16 – Use library tablets for free, teach others how to use the devices. Truro library. For ages 13 to 19. 3 to 5 p.m. Registration opens July 10. Call 895-1625 to register.

Drop-in knit and crochet group

JULY 17 – Truro library. 3 to 4:30 p.m. Drop in or crochet with others. Bring your yarn and needles. Patterns and written instructions will be available. For ages and older.

Annual strawberry festival

JULY 17 – Tatamagouche fire hall. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hosted by the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Meals range from $3 to $7. Lively music, bake sale, new-to-you, 50/50 draw.

Story time and crafts

JULY 17 – Truro library. For five to seven-year-olds.  10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Theme: LOL at the library. Registration starts July 11. Call 895-1625 to register.

Crib

JULY 17 – Royal Canadian Legion, Truro. 7 p.m. in the canteen.

Community refreshments

JULY 17 – Young Street Gospel Hall, beside the Truro fire hall. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Free coffee, tea and snacks. Everyone welcome.

Tween Lego

JULY 18 – Truro library. For ages eight and older. 3:30 to 5 p.m. Registration starts July 11. Call 895-1625 to register.

Open door prayer for the community

JULY 18 – First Baptist Church, Prince Street, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer for people in the community. Wheelchair accessible to the church’s sanctuary.

Friday night social

JULY 18 – Ham, potato salad and strawberry shortcake. Royal Canadian Legion, Tatamagouche. 5 p.m. until sold out. $6 per person. Everyone welcome.
