TRURO – Families are the focus of community discussions this week regarding challenges and solutions for local recreation.

Group discussions are being held in Truro tonight and tomorrow. The intent of the conversations is to discover what families believe are challenges and what supports can be implemented locally to make recreation and physical activity more accessible and pleasant.

The sessions are hosted by Central Nova Women’s Resource Centre, Maggie’s Place and the Canadian Mental Health Association. It’s hoped there will be an attendance of 10 families in all three meetings.

Meetings will be held today at Maggie’s Place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and tonight at the Canadian Mental Health Association from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The women’s resource centre will hold the Thursday meeting from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Families will receive $50 to compensate for their time and travel. Child care and snacks will be available.

To take part, call the women’s resource centre at 895-4295 to register.
