Open door prayer for the community
JULY 4 – First Baptist Church, Prince Street, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Offering personal prayer for people in the community. Wheelchair accessible to the church’s sanctuary.
Friday night social
JULY 4 – Royal Canadian Legion, Tatamagouche. 5 p.m. until sold out. Barbecue and salad and dessert. $6. Everyone welcome.
Junior Lego event
JULY 4 – Truro library. For ages five to seven. 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Registration opens June 27. Call 895-1625 to register.
Shakespeare in Victoria Park
JULY 4 – 6 – Romeo and Juliet presented by MLA Lenore Zann and the Truro Theatre Society. Victoria Park bank shell. 7 p.m. Rain location: Truro legion on the 4th; Nova Scotia Community College gym for the other two performances.
Gospel coffee house
JULY 5 – Salvation Army, 14 Outram St., Truro, 7 to 9 p.m. Bring snacks for lunch, freewill offering.
JULY 5 – Barbecue, bake sale, yard sale and books. Andrew Peller Estates, 491 Willow St., Truro. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Everyone welcome.
JULY 5 – Valley United Church. 110 Salmon River Rd. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain or shine. All proceeds going to Arms of Jesus children’s mission to build high school/vocational school in Guatemala.
Chase the ace
JULY 5 – Engine Room, Truro. 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $1. Weekly winner wins percentage of ticket sales. Chance to draw the ace of spades for more than $4,880.
JULY 6 – St. David’s United Church worship service outdoors at the Dal AC Alumni gardens. 9:30 a.m. Everyone welcome.
JULY 6 – Church service and fellowship. Church Carin site. 3 p.m. At the junction of Brule Shore Road, past Tarbet Hall. Bring a lawn chair. Everyone welcome.
