Nova Scotia man dies when he loses control of motorcycle on highway

HAY COVE - Police in Nova Scotia are investigating a motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 69-year-old Richmond County man Saturday.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Richmond County RCMP, Emergency Health Services (EHS) and the local fire department responded to a motorcycle crash on Highway 4 in Hay Cove.

The rider was traveling eastbound when he hit the shoulder and lost control of his motorcycle which landed in the middle of the eastbound lane.

The 69-year-old man from Birch Grove was transported by EHS to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries.An RCMP collision analyst attended the scene and the cause of the collision is under investigation.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
