MILLBROOK – No one was injured after a fire broke out in a residence in the early morning hours of Sunday.

Ryan Geldart with the Truro Volunteer Fire Brigade said firefighters from Truro, Hilden and Bible Hill responded to a call of a structure fire at 165 Abenaki Rd. at approximately 1:30 a.m.

“It was well involved when we arrived, but we were able to knock it down,” said Geldart. “No one was inside the structure when the fire broke out.”

Firefighters from the three departments were on site for four to five hours, he said, with members of the Salmon River department on standby at the Truro Fire Service.

“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, and we have turned the investigation over to the RCMP in Millbrook,” he added.
