ENFIELD – An Indian Brook man has been arrested and charged in relation to a series of break and enters into residences and theft of vehicles in the area over the past month.

Drew Phillip Maloney was identified Wednesday in Indian Brook by an East Hants Street Crime Unit member as matching the description of a person wanted on a theft of vehicle, which had just occurred.

Maloney fled into the woods and the stolen car was recovered nearby. Maloney was apprehended without incident with the assistance of the RCMP police dog.

Maloney was in Shubenacadie Court on Thursday to face several charges, including two counts of theft over $5,000, two counts of trespass at night, two counts of breach of probation and two counts of break and enter with intent.

He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on Monday, June 30.

The investigations are continuing.
