To the editor,
I don't know just where I missed something in the path, but I obviously did that has led our present government arriving at the point they have reached.
For instance, they have just replaced teams of community based volunteers (who are familiar with the needs of the local population) with a hired administrator based out of Halifax.
There is no plan, no definite budget, and just one guy getting paid $ 500 a day, plus expenses.
They have not told us how much this restructuring is expected to cost.
They have not explained why they prefer amalgamation rather than front-line care. Their philosophy seems to be, “Trust us. We know best.”
Well, I for one do not appreciate that condescending attitude, especially coming from a party with the historical baggage of this one.
It may well be that this gentleman is qualified, but maybe former Liberal Premier
Russell Mac Lellan's brother was not the most qualified for the job. We don't know because there was no fair and open job competition.
It might not be Liberal patronage as with the Glennie Langille case, but it still doesn't sit well with me.
