Cst. Dal Hutchinson directs traffic through the roundabout at the bottom of Robie Street, where firemen and Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal crews clean up an oil spill.
Where the spill came from is unknown, but it was reported at approximately 7 p.m. when a passing motorist noticed the slippery conditions through the roundabout. With grey skies and rain looming, crews responded quickly to clean up the mess.
"There was a pretty steady flow of traffic at first, but it's died off quite a bit now, thankfully," Hutchinson said.
No other spills were found in the area, leading the constable to believe whoever lost the oil probably didn't even notice.
As of 9 p.m. traffic was slow through the roundabout, but still moving.
