TRURO – Ash & Bloom, a Canadian folk duo, is in town on June 10 to support the Colchester Community Workshop Foundation.

The event, which begins at 8 p.m. at Champions Bar and Grill, will help raise funds and awareness for the organization’s current community projects. Tickets are $20, with proceeds going to the foundation.

Ash & Bloom, featuring Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal, have spent years perfecting their songs and they are ready to release them a bit at a time for the world to enjoy. Their debut self-titled EP, released this past November, features heavy-hitting ballad "Let The Storm Come," which boasts incredible songwriting and vocal aptitude.

The duo is hot off the heels of The Vehicle of Change Tour featuring headliner Justin Hines. The North American tour featured more than 80 stops in three months, travelling more than 20,000 km.

Ash & Bloom will release a full-length album on June 24, which will feature songs co-written by some of Canada’s greats, such as Peter Katz, Caroline Brooks, Julie Crochietere and Rob Szabo.
