Despite rumours, there wasn’t a forest fire in Bible Hill on Friday night.
An official with the Bible Hill Fire Brigade confirmed with the Truro Daily News shortly after 6 p.m. that there were no fires in the community. The rumour could have begun when the area’s Department of Natural Resources was called to a fire in East Hants earlier in the day, the fire official said.
There was one blaze in North River early Friday evening, however. Bible Hill crews were called in but shortly after told to stand down.
Details were unavailable Friday night as to the specifics of that incident, which was pinpointed about six kilometres past the North River fire hall.
