TRURO - The dollar value of building permits taken out through the Municipality of Colchester continues to grow over last year's numbers.
During April, a total of 43 permits valued at $8.4 million were approved, compared to 49 permits for the same month last year valued at $4.6 million.
So far this year, 105 permits valued at $16,638,289 have been approved, compared to 110 permits for the same period last year, which were valued at $11,023,600.
Renovations underway at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Agriculture buildings accounted for $3.3 million of the April total while a number of commercial permits added another $1.7 million.
Single residential permits accounted for $2.4 million while multiple residential permits brought in another $200,000.
