TRURO - The Trailer Park Boys are back and they're looking to local residents to help fill their set.
Week 1 of shooting the ninth season begins on Wednesday and a casting call has been issued through Hennessey Casting for filming this week.
Those applying for roles must be a resident of Nova Scotia and be legally able to work in Canada. They also need to have their own transportation and able to work a full day.
Roles needed for Day 1 of filming include yoga seniors, bowling seniors and massage parlour customers.
Seniors denote people 65 years or older, or who appear to be of that age. Applicants must be able bodied and without any serious health problems.
Seniors interested in applying for yoga scenes must be in good shape and do some mild stretching.
Bowling seniors don't have to be good at the sport, however, experience with bowling is a plus. The massage parlour customers are also seniors.
Yoga seniors are also needed for Day 3 of filming, set for Friday, but don't necessarily have to be the same from Day 1.
Also needed on Day 3 are angry seniors: "You're mad and you hate crappy sandwiches," reads the casting call.
Day 2 casting call is looking for a newborn baby. The newborn has to be at least 15 days old, by law, and no more than six weeks. The newborn baby will be part of an indoor birth scene, with a private quite area when the baby is not needed on set.
According to Hennessey Casting, a full day could mean from 5:30 a.m. (or earlier) for a minimum of four hours, or up to 12 to 14 hours or more. Once work has started, cast can't leave the set.
To apply for the roles, visit www.hennesseycasting.com to create a new or access an existing account. Once logged in, select "Trailer Park Boys Week One BG Requirements." Applicants can select as many of the roles available as long as they fit the description.
Those selected will be contacted to confirm availability for the day required, and call time, location and wardrobe notes will be available the night before.
