TRURO – A guess-your-time run will take place in Victoria Park this weekend.

The run, hosted by gotruro.ca, is open for all ages and will begin at 9 a.m. with registration at the bandshell in the park. Scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. for youth and 10 a.m. for adults, participants actual start time will depend on how long they anticipate it will take them to run the two, four or six km run on a loop around lower Victoria Park. There will also be a youth run of 400 or 800 m.

During registration, runners will guess their finish time. The person with the slowest predicted time starts first, and the person with the fastest predicted time starts last.

The “winner” is the person who finishes closest to their predicted time. To keep it interesting, no participants are permitted to wear a watch or timing device on course.

The cost of the event is $5 for adults, $2 for youth under 16, and $10 for a family.

The Greenwood Running Company just did this a matter of weeks ago. And I won! I was just 5 seconds shy of my time.
