TRURO – The Colchester County Home Show reported strong sales from the recently held annual event in Truro.
The home show, which was held at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre on April 11 to 13, was a huge success, according to show manager Scott Sprague.
“It was a great show. The weather really worked in our favour this year; Saturday’s weather drove people directly to the building, and Sunday’s made people excited about spring and renovation season,” Sprague said in a news release.
Exhibitors reported strong sales as well.
“I've been working the Truro home show for 21 years and this year was definitely the best I've seen for direct sales,” said Doug MacInnes of Wilsons Home Heating, adding the home show is “an investment that we see a return on immediately after the show.”
Teresa Dunlop, of Little Luxuries Soapworks, said recent expansion of the show has been an improvement.
“The addition of the home-based business section three years ago has given small businesses an opportunity to showcase their products and services, and adds interest and variety for consumers attending the show.”
“Overall one of the best home shows we get to attend in Nova Scotia,” added Barry Walker of Efficiency Nova Scotia.
