BASS RIVER - The seventh annual Holocaust Remembrance Service in Bass River is scheduled for April 28 at the Veterans Memorial Park.
The service is to begin at 7 p.m. and will include the reading of six stories in remembrance of the six million people who died during the Holocaust.
The Holocaust began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler to power in Germany and ended in 1945 when the Nazis were defeated by the Allied powers. The Nazis targeted Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, communists, twins, and the disabled in a misguided effort to develop a superior white race.
A reception at the Bass River Fire Hall is to follow the service.
