SHUBENACADIE – Two workshops have been announced for Exit 10 Film and Creative’s spring and summer season.

The first workshop is an intensive two-day event on casting and mould-making. It runs April 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Vance Vegas Salvalaggio, make up effects artist, special effects co-ordinator and lighting director, is set to teach the workshop. Topics include surface preparation, techniques, terminology and hands-on tips and tricks. The workshop is suited for students, instructors, industry hopefuls and hobbyists alike.

Participants will also make a two-part mould from gypsum product and clay, as well as cast a small project in which you can bring your own or have one provided.

The second workshop is an introduction to costuming for film and television. Award-winning costume designer Allisa M. Swanson is teaching the May 11 class from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The workshop will teach the basics, including the good and the bad, as well as tips on how to get started on creating costumes for film and television.
