Bearcats fall to Commandos in Game 2

DIEPPE – The Dieppe Commandos defeated the Truro Bearcats 3-2 on Thursday night in Maritime junior A hockey playoff action.

With the win, the Kent Cup series is tied 1-1. It also put an end to the Bearcats' winning streak throughout the playoffs.

The Bearcats found the back of the net Thursday night thanks to goals by Jacob Smith on a powerplay and Daniel Perigo. Dieppe's Colton Parsons, Cody Drover and Justin McDonald posted goals as well in front of a crowd of about 750 people at the Arthur J LeBlanc Arena in Dieppe.

Truro went 1 for 2 on the powerplay, while Dieppe did not capitalize on its three powerplay chances. 

Connor Wilkinson stopped 24 of 26 shots for the victory, while Chris Festarini turned away 27 of 30 shots in the loss.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series takes place at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro on Saturday night, beginning at 7 p.m.

    A loss tonight means at least 2 more games at home for the Bearcats. Wonderful. They are playing a very great, entertaining game this season. Looking forward to Saturday night and hopefully another win for the Bearcats.
