Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement. One of its key focuses is enhancing parks, open spaces and streetscapes in residential, business and industrial neighbourhoods.

The Truro Communities in Bloom committee has worked on, or has had input on numerous community enhancement and beautification projects, including gardens, scenic murals, spring-time trash cleanups, holiday light exchanges and much more.

Members of the committee are asked to attend monthly meetings, and to suggest ways to further enhance the appearance of the Town of Truro.

They will also be asked to assist in preparing for national judges who visit the area for Communities in Bloom competitions. Truro is a “five bloom” community, the highest ranking a municipality can receive for its efforts.

Anyone interested in being part of the committee can contact Doug MacKenzie at 893-6078.
