Man steals cash register from convenience store in Dartmouth, police say

HALIFAX- Police here are looking for a man who stole a cash register from a store on Waverly Road in Dartmouth.

Officers responded to a reported robbery at Patton’s general store at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

A man who was working alone in the store said another man came in and bought some lottery tickets with cash and left. The employee said the man returned a few minutes later, grabbed the cash register off the counter and took off in a white 4-door car.

The clerk was not injured or threatened during the incident.

The suspect is described as a white man with brown curly hair, unshaven and wearing a two-tone blue golf shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
