TRURO – Local officials want to know how you get around to your destination.
The Municipality of Colchester County, Town of Truro and Village of Bible Hill are conducting a survey about walking and cycling among residents. The survey is open to people who are living and or working in Truro, Brookfield, Bible Hill or Tatamagouche.
Those that participate in the survey will have a chance to win a $100 gift card and 10 $20 prizes.
Surveys must be completed by April 18 and can be completed in three ways: online at www.whatgetsyouplaces.ca, by calling 899-7907, or by completing a survey when approached by an interviewer in public places, such as the mall, libraries and on the street.
The survey welcomes broad input from many people with all types of transportation routines. The response will lead to a clearer picture of the travel patterns among residents and used to create programs this summer that could be of interest throughout the province.
This is one of the first surveys to quantify walking and cycling behaviours and attitudes in rural and small town Nova Scotia. The findings will be analyzed and made available in May.
