TRURO – If you’ve ever wanted to play the drums, now is the chance.

Townie’s Music & Mercantile from Halifax is hosting a percussion workshop in Truro this Saturday. Facilitators David Burton and Sultan Dharamshi will teach the workshop, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Prince Margaret Rose School on Willow Street.

All levels are invited and will have equal opportunity to improve their drum, percussion, and sight-reading skills.

Participants will learn a wide variety of African and Cuban rhythms and then focus on a style of his or her choice. They will spend a day listening and playing exciting rhythms from around the world and feel the power and strength of one unified ensemble.

The facilitators are accomplished professionals, having both toured with the award-winning Brookes Diamond production, DRUM!

Cost of the workshop is $50 plus HST. For more information or to register, call (902) 444-3786 or visit www.towniesmusic.com.
