TRURO – A public meeting this week will feature an up-to-date look into the new Truro library.

Residents are welcome to a meeting that will focus on the design of the new Colchester East Hants Public Library that is destined to go into the old Normal College. Last week, the process of gutting the building began.

The meeting will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. inside the town council chambers on the third floor of the civic building on Prince Street.

“The architects and L&R Construction will be there and we will have a computer generated visual walk-through of what the new library will look like,” said Truro Mayor Bill Mills. “Because there was so much consultation on picking a site for the new library we felt it was important for stakeholders to see this.”

Floor plans and some “refinements” will be discussed at the meeting, which Mills believes will last about two hours. A question and answer period is expected to take place as well.
