To the editor,
We often run into a Good Samaritan and often we do not give them the credit and praise they deserve.
On our trip to the Dominican we ran into baggage issues at the airport with Sunwing. Usually we bring four suitcases with us, two suitcases are for humanitarian aid and the other two is our personal stuff.
I read Sunwing’s baggage policy but did not really understand it. Every trip we bring four suitcases and pay the $25 to $30 dollars each for the two additional suitcases and this is no problem.
The problem this time was the extra baggage would cost us an additional $800 with Sunwing's extraordinarily strict baggage policy. So here we were in the Halifax airport prioritizing what had to go and what had to stay, and more importantly, where the extra baggage would go in such short notice. Then our hero stepped forward.
A Good Samaritan named Wayne E. from Truro (I would give you his last name but I do not have his consent) stepped forward and offered to store the extra baggage in his car at Park and Fly until we got back.
It was a risk because we did not know this guy, but today he emailed us letting us know that he was back from his vacation and is looking forward to meeting up with us. I would like to thank God for Wayne E. and all the other Good Samaritans he has made that do not get credit for their good work. I would also ask you to share this story to encourage other good works.
