Large crowd expected for bridge tournament in Truro

TRURO – About 200 bridge players will gather in Truro this weekend.

The Don Cox Memorial Bridge Tournament, which will be hosted by the Truro Duplicate Bridge Club, takes place  Friday to Sunday at the Best Western Glengarry.

The tournament, which is open to all levels of players, has been held annually for 51 years and is named in memory of Don Cox, one of the founding members.

Two of Truro’s players, Ken Eisner and Dave Scammell, have successfully competed locally and Canada-wide to be representatives of Canada in the North American Pairs Championship. They are currently in Dallas, Texas competing for North American honours.
