Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the province, including all parts of Colchester County, as a "very intense" low pressure system makes its way across the province.
Strong winds and snowfall, with a potential of exceeding 25 centimetres, are expected with the system.
Snow heavy at times is forecast to begin Wednesday morning and change over to rain in the afternoon over the eastern half of the mainland, as well as Cape Breton. It's expected to change back to snow overnight Wednesday and taper off by Thursday morning.
