Male facing weapons charge after police called to Truro library

TRURO – A 19-year-old male of no fixed address is facing a weapons charge after Truro police responded to a report of a person with a handgun inside the library on Prince Street Thursday afternoon.

Inspector Rob Hearn said the male was in possession of a BB gun and a can of bear spray when he was located by police.

A weapons charge is pending with respect to the bear spray, Hearn said.

Police also responded to a call Thursday evening regarding a break and enter at an apartment building on Lyman St.

Two males and a female were discovered inside the apartment. A 16-year-old Truro male is facing a break and enter charge while a 29-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man are facing charges of being unlawfully in a dwelling house.
