Public input sought on armed robbery in Lower Truro

Sgt. Al LeBlanc, media relations with the Nova Scotia RMCP, confirmed with the Truro Daily News that Colchester RCMP was called to investigate an armed robbery at the Robie Street Esso at 6:40 a.m. Thursday.

“One man wearing a grey face mask walked in, approached an employee and produced a weapon,” LeBlanc said, adding the type of weapon will not be revealed because of the ongoing investigation.

The man was looking for cash and cigarettes, said LeBlanc, and fled on foot “with an undetermined amount of money.”

Truro police were called to help, as was an RCMP dog, however, the man was not located.

LeBlanc described the man as young, and wearing a black hoodie, black gloves and jeans. He was carrying a black knapsack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Colchester RCMP at 893-6820 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
